It is not only when you fly at night that make people address you as a witch, but when you are wicked to your fellow human being, people can also call you a witch as well. A 49-year-old woman by name Kumatu Tafa, has been nabbed by the Akyem oda police for allegedly caging her two grandchildren in a hen coop for eight months and serving them food and water in a chamber pot.
The woman, together with her grandchildren, lives in a compound house at the Otwereso electoral area in the Akyemansa District of the Eastern Region.The victims, Sani Issah, 4 years, and Fozia Issah, 7 years, were allegedly compelled by the grandmother to sleep in the hen coop, saying that they were bed wetters and did not want to sleep in the same room with them. She allegedly restrained them from taking food from the neighbours.
Sources hinted this paper that the kids lost their parents years ago, and had been under the care of the old lady since their infancy. Suspecting that something unusual might be taking place inside the house, she alerted the assemblyman of the area, Mr. Odeshie Yaw Nyame, who was said to have informed the police about it, leading to the arrest of the old lady.
